Breath set for the big screen

'The Mentalist' star Simon Baker and producer Mark Johnson have teamed up to acquire feature rights to Tim Winton's award-winning novel, Breath. Baker, who has been surfing since childhood, will play one of the lead roles.

Breath was described by the Observer as 'An absorbing, powerful and deeply beautiful novel, a meditation on surfing which becomes a rumination about the very stuff of existence'. It won the Age Book of the Year Award, the Indie Award and most recently Tim Winton's fourth Miles Franklin Award.
